📊 Poll
Last week, we asked: Would you buy an Apple-branded TV?
Here were my favorite replies:
Yes - “I just hate how smart TVs nowadays have become laggy, cluttered with ads, and difficult to use. I'm confident that if Apple released a tv, it would be none of these things.”
No - “I think Apple TV is the best value Apple product they have ever produced and I love it. I never use my TV’s actual operating system any more. If Apple were to produce their own TV - what would be the USP? Likely overpriced, and if you already have Apple TV, what incremental functionality could it possibly offer?”
This week: Would you sacrifice battery life for a much thinner iPhone? Why or why not? More on this later.

🗞️ The Latest
🍎 Fresh iPhone 17 ‘Air' Details
MacRumors
A thin version of the iPhone 17 is expected to replace the “Plus” model next year and now we have some new details.
Prototypes of the device have a thickness of around 5-6mm, which would make it the thinnest iPhone ever made.
It might also be one of the first products with an Apple-designed 5G modem.
But there will be compromises, such as a single speaker (in the earpiece), a single camera lens, no SIM card tray (worldwide), and, most notably, a smaller battery.
However, just because it has a smaller battery doesn’t mean battery life will be significantly worse than iPhones with larger batteries. It will be well-optimized.
Also, the camera is said to be a ”large, centered camera bump on the back.”
The Air is set to launch in September, alongside the iPhone 17 & 17 Pro.
iPhone 17 Pro Leaks
The iPhone 17 Pro & Pro Max will reportedly have "significant design changes,” including the build materials.
These could be the first “Pro” iPhones to feature an aluminum frame!
The rear might also feature a half-aluminum, half-glass design.
The rear camera bump is said to be made of aluminum and the bottom half of glass, which is needed for wireless charging.
My take: It seems that Apple is trying to make every product as thin as humanly possible and, honestly, I’m here for it!
I mean, look at the M4 iPad Pro: it was made significantly thinner than the previous generation while maintaining the same battery life. If Apple can replicate that with the iPhone, I think they have a winner on their hands.
As for the 17 Pros, the switch to Aluminum would be unexpected, but not out of the equation. I do think this is a possibility and could make for a unique rear design, which has been needed for years.
📰 iOS 19 & More
AppleScoop
iOS 19 will be announced in June and while the first major feature has already leaked, we now have more details.
LLM Siri is expected to be announced in June, but won’t be released until iOS 19.4 in 2026.
However, a large number of additional features scheduled for iOS 19 are already being postponed until spring 2026 (when iOS 19.4 debuts).
No additional details on these features were mentioned, but iOS 19.4 might just end up being the biggest “point” update ever!
Apple’s Heartstrings Ad
Apple just launched its annual Holiday ad campaign, Heartstrings. It’s about the Hearing Aid feature on AirPods Pro 2 and it is excellent.
No AirPods Max 2
Apple reportedly has "no concrete plans" to update the AirPods Max again "in a meaningful way."
This comes just months after Apple “updated” the AirPods Max with USB-C and new colors. So, if you were holding out for a 2nd generation, you might be waiting for a while.
My take: iOS 19 is still months away and iOS 19.4 is still over a year away, so things could change. But typically, these early scoops on software delays turn out to be true.
